December 20, 2025, According to a press release from the Old Orchard Beach Police Department, On December 19, 2025, at approximately 7:32 p.m., Old Orchard Beach Police Officers conducting proactive traffic enforcement initiated a motor vehicle stop.
Officers identified the vehicle operator as Nelson Gomes, 48, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

A subsequent investigation resulted in Gomes being arrested for Operating Under the Influence (OUI).
During the investigation, officers discovered approximately 43.7 grams of packaged cocaine, 22.4 grams of compressed methamphetamine pills resembling Adderall, and a significant amount of cash.

Gomes was charged with two counts of Unlawful Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs (Class A), OUI- Alcohol (Class D), Operating Without a License (Class E), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class D).
Gomes is currently being held at the York County Jail, with bail set at $35,000.00.
