Biddeford+Saco Chamber of Commerce Announces Leadership Transition

The Biddeford+Saco Chamber of Commerce has made a leadership change in the Executive Director position following an internal review of operations. The Board determined that a transition was necessary to strengthen administrative systems and ensure continued excellence in member service.

The Board is grateful to Matt Lewis for his many contributions in building relationships and representing the Chamber in the community. He brought warmth, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to the community, and those qualities are deeply appreciated.

Out of respect for everyone involved, no further details will be shared. The Executive Committee is currently overseeing Chamber operations, and the Board will share updates about leadership and long-term planning as decisions are finalized.

Our immediate focus remains on restoring strong internal systems and continuing to serve our members with transparency, consistency, and care.

October 20, 2025, According to reports from staff at the Biddeford Saco Chamber of Commerce + Industry, recently hired Executive Director Matt Lewis has been let go from his position effective immediately.

Matt began serving in this role in May of 2025, just 5 months ago.

Chamber staff cited a need for leadership change in regards to internal administrative tasks.

Matt replaced long time Executive Director Jim LaBelle who is now running for City Council to represent Ward 1.
