BREAKING: EFFECTIVE 2PM TODAY | All ICE agents in Maine now equipped with body-worn cameras

~Important to note, per ICE's current policy, the agency will only release body camera footage when it is in the "best interests" of the agency.~


August 13, 2026, According to the office of U.S. Senator Susan Collins, as of 2:00 PM today, all Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents in the state of Maine, are now fully equipped with body-worn cameras.



U.S. Senator Susan Collins released the following statement:


"I am pleased to announce that as of today at 2pm, all ICE enforcement officers in Maine have been equipped with body-worn cameras and trained in their use.


When I spoke with ICE Acting Director Venturella last month, he committed to deliver body-worn cameras to ICE agents across the country by the end of August. I urged him to prioritize Maine, and they have arrived more than two weeks ahead of schedule".


This news comes exactly one month since the ICE shooting death of Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero that occured in Biddeford, Maine on July 13th, 2026.


Important to note, per ICE's current policy, the agency will only release body camera footage when it is in the "best interests" of the agency.
