-A Message to Biddeford Wastewater Customers from Maine Water-


EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 1, 2025 - MAINE WATER WILL HANDLE BIDDEFORD WASTEWATER BILLING SERVICES


October 30th, 2025, Maine water sent the below letter to residents of Biddeford regarding their new contract with the City to handle all “ billing, collection and customer service inquiries for the City’s wastewater customers, effective November 1, 2025” 


Please read the letter below from Maine Water:


Dear Biddeford Wastewater Customer,

Maine Water has been contracted by the City of Biddeford to handle all billing, collection and customer service inquiries for the City’s wastewater customers, effective November 1, 2025. Maine Water looks forward to providing professionalism, value and efficiency for many years to come, not just to the city but to you as a valued customer. Just like your water bill, at all times you will have dependable and easily accessible information about wastewater charges.

Please begin by contacting Maine Water for any of your wastewater needs.

  • You can reach Maine Water during business hours from 8am — 4:30pm, M-F at 1-800-287-1643 or by email at customerservice@mainewater.com. Please contact Maine Water from now on instead of The City of Biddeford for any wastewater billing and customer service needs. Maine Water is happy to help you with billing questions, payments, or phone inquiries with questions regarding your bill.

  • Operational emergency calls will still be made to the City of Biddeford's Wastewater Department at 207-282-1350.

  • Your next bill will be sent from Maine Water. Payments for new or old balances can be sent to:

  • Maine Water offers online payment, 24-hour pay by phone, pay by mail and in person payments at Western Union or any Bangor Savings Bank location.

    • Interested in e-billing? Once you receive your first bill from Maine Water visit mainewater.com and click Pay My Bill to get started. If you already have an e-billing account for your water service, you can use the same username and password and link the new account number after you receive a bill from Maine Water. You will also be able to sign up for auto payment at that time if you choose to. Please do not use the City of Biddeford’s e-billing/e-payment system in the future for wastewater bills. The letter linked below includes tips to register for e-billing or to link your sewer to an existing water account you have set up.


If you typically receive a sewer bill on a monthly basis:

Monthly sewer bill customers will receive a bill approximately every two weeks until all bills have gone out and are up to date. The first set of monthly bills will go out mid-November. You will be given time to pay each new bill issued.


If you typically receive a sewer bill on a quarterly basis:

Quarterly sewer bill customers will receive a bill approximately every 30 days beginning mid-November for some and the third week of November for others. Each bill will be due at least 25 days after the billing date. The attached system map will show the approximate bill dates for the different areas.
