July 1, 2026, According to the Biddeford School Department, BHS Lacrosse Coach Marsh Gray has recieved the 2026 "Man of the Year" award from the National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Congratulations to BHS Coach, Marsh Gray!
The National Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association (NILCA) Man of the Year Award is one of the organization’s highest honors. Rather than celebrating a single successful season, the award honors a lifetime of service, success on the field, leadership, and contributions to the growth of lacrosse within their state.
Recipients are recognized for:
-Outstanding leadership and integrity.
-Long-term service to the game at the local, state, and national levels.
-Mentoring coaches and student-athletes.
-Growing and promoting high school lacrosse.
-Embodying sportsmanship, character, and the educational values of interscholastic athletics.
Over the past 25 years, Coach Gray has dedicated his career to developing student-athletes, building successful programs, and advancing the sport of lacrosse at all levels throughout Maine.
Throughout his career, Coach Gray’s teams have consistently competed with discipline, passion, and respect, producing graduates who continue to serve as ambassadors for the game. His commitment to community is exemplified by the creation of Gloria’s Game, a cancer awareness event honoring his late mother that became the largest athletic fundraiser in Biddeford High School history. Coach Gray’s lasting impact on his players, his communities, and the growth of lacrosse reflects a career defined by leadership, humility, and service.
