Windham Traffic Shooting

Community Update from the Windham Police Department:

At approximately 1:55 PM today (Friday, August 15, 2025), the Windham Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a shooting at the intersection of Route 302 and Landing Road.

Windham Police, along with neighboring law enforcement agencies, EMS, and fire departments, responded immediately. Upon arrival, first responders located a lone male who had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of bystanders who performed life-saving measures, the individual did not survive.

A coordinated search for the suspect began immediately, with a command post and perimeter established that extended into surrounding towns. The suspect was located several hours later, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

We thank the community for your patience during traffic delays and rerouting as the investigation unfolded. For those who may have missed the alert, the shelter-in-place order has been lifted, and normal activities may resume.
