Yesterday, the Biddeford High School TigersĀ Varsity Football Team faced off against the Sanford Spartans. The game concluded with a final score of 28 to 14 with Sanford winning the game. Although Biddeford did not win the game the general sentiment from the parents was ā€œnot the ending we wanted, but the boys played hard, and we are proud".

The game started with Biddeford winning the coin toss and deferring to Sanford.

The first quarter was overall uneventful with neither team scoring and no major defensive plays made.

Quarter two brought the first points for Biddeford of the game to the score board with the team’s #15 (QB Ernie Dore) handing the ball off to #2 (RB Kelly O’Guinn) who ran it home for a 62 yard touchdown. Biddeford's #6 (Achile Tcholuka) successfully kicked a field goal scoring an additional point.

During the third quarter, Biddeford's #4 (WR Julius Searles) made a 15 yard reception to get the first down. Following this pass completion, Dore threw a second successful pass to Searles who made an impressive catch leaping above two of the Sanford players scoring a touchdown.

The boys played hard through the fourth quarter but unfortunately did not score any additional points. As one parent put it, the "fourth quarter was rough… Biddeford's Defense left everything on the field and there were a lot of penalties called for both teams.ā€

Defensive End #55 Zander Huot was very significant throughout the game and led the team with 7 tackles. In addition, Defensive Backs #22 Lybunrong Chhay and #12 Cameron Bergeron stood out as two defensive players to watch this season.

In conclusion, although the game ended in a loss, the season is looking very promising for the Biddeford High School Varsity Football Team. THESE BOYS NEED YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT TO HELP MAKE IT A SUCCESS!
