📰COUNCIL PASSES 20 MILLION DOLLAR BOND FOR UPCOMING ELECTION

RESULTS -BOND VOTE & SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING-

Both Bonds #1 & #2 were FINALIZED AND APPROVED last night (8/26/25) by the City of Biddeford Government-Biddeford City Council.

Now in November, voters will vote to approve or deny a $20,000,000 municipal bond (BOND #1) to be used towards the City’s “Storm and Sanitary Sewer Systems”.


In addition, voters will vote to approve or deny a $6,000,000 municipal bond (BOND #2) to be used towards “Improvements to the City’s Recreation Facilities”.


Bond #1 (Storm & Sewer) passed with a unanimous vote from the board.


Bond #2 (Recreation Facilities) passed with a vote of 5 to 2 (see below):

●5 yeas – Councilors Lessard, Ortiz, Beaupre, Whiting and LaFountain

●2 nays – Councilors Belanger and Emhiser.

City staff will share additional educational information about what the bonds will be used for in the weeks leading up to the election - we will be sure to share that information here as well.
