"She might have been our Senator in the past, but she is not our Senator anymore."
October 5, 2026, This morning, individuals from the Maine People's Alliance (MPA) met in front of the Biddeford office of U.S. Senator Susan Collins to begin what MAP is describing as a "Cost of Collins March".
A post from the organization earlier today reads, "The Cost of Collins march has begun! We’ll be marching about 16 miles each day this week, going from Biddeford to Augusta, and stopping at U.S. Senator Susan Collins' offices along the way to demand she stop cutting our healthcare, SNAP, and other programs Mainers rely on."
According to organizers, on Tuesday when the "March" comes through Portland, they will be holding a press conference at 10 am outside of Collins' Portland office.
Prior to beginning the march, organizers spoke with a representative from Senator Collins inside her Biddeford office expressing tere concerns.
