March 24, 2026, according to reports from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, the "Maine Warden Service is seeking information regarding a snowmobile rider that caused over $20,000 worth of damage to a local nursery in Dayton."

According to a release from the department, "At some point between Thursday, February 26 and Saturday, February 28, someone took a snowmobile off the marked trail and rode through a roped off area, running over and damaging numerous small trees and saplings at Pierson Nurseries in Dayton. It is estimated that the rider caused $21,000 worth of damage."

In addition, the Saco Pathfinders Snowmobile Club and Maine Snowmobile Association are each offering $500, and Maine Operation Game Thief is offering $1,000, for a total reward of $2,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible.
