May 11, 2026, The Biddeford Art Walk returns on Friday, May 15 from 5 – 8 p.m., kicking off the 2026 season with local art, live music, performances, exhibitions, food, and community programming throughout Main Street, the mills, and downtown storefronts. Presented by Art of Biddeford with support from Heart of Biddeford, the free, self-guided event takes place on the third Friday of each month from May through October.

The Biddeford Art Walk builds on Maine’s longstanding tradition of community Art Walks; grassroots, walkable events that make the arts accessible. Art Walks are free and open to all, with no sign-up required, making it easy for local artists and small businesses to participate and connect with the public.

In Biddeford, the Art Walk has grown from early efforts led by Engine into a distinctly local experience shaped by artists, small businesses, and the people building Biddeford’s creative community.

“This event is about creating opportunities for artists, businesses, and the community to connect in an accessible and welcoming way,” said Larry Weyand, Program Director for Art of Biddeford. “The Art Walk continues to grow each year because so many people across Biddeford want to be part of building a vibrant creative community.”

This May 15th Art Walk will include a dedicated Kids Corner, where BiddoBahn will be giving away shaved ice alongside programming from Apex Youth Connection, including face painting, balloon art, and chalk art. Additional activities from Mill Studio Arts and RIFT Arcade will feature collaborative art-making and interactive workshops.

Additional participating artists and businesses include Common Roots Studio, Mill Pond Ceramics, the Gutter, the Art Certificate Program, Flourish, Stem & Vine, an artist-led photo walk with Josh Johnson, a beer tasting hosted by Brew England with Lone Pine Brewing Company, performances of The Cemetery Club at the Biddeford City Theater, with additional programming across downtown.

This month’s Art Walk will also include many participating artists and open studios throughout the mills, including Building 17, as well as pop-up street vendors, independent makers, restaurants, and downtown businesses.

Artists, craftspeople, musicians, performers, studios, and businesses are encouraged to participate this season. Businesses may host artists or performances, and artists can request pairing with participating venues or participate independently downtown.
